SysOps Engineer (NJE)
Purpose of Position
Perform and monitor the installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of IT systems, databases and related infrastructure to guarantee that they are fully functional and that all standard procedures for systems administration are followed.
Responsible for managing application deployments across all environments, including Development, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing and Production. Ensures compliance with ITIL Change Management standards, risk mitigation and business impact minimization. Collaborates with
- functional teams (Dev
Ops, Business Analysts, Program and Project Managers as well as internal and external developers) to deliver smooth transitions through the deployment lifecycle, maintaining environment stability and supporting continuous delivery practices.
Tasks And Responsibilities
Systems, Servers and Database Administration
- Install, configure, and administer company systems and servers (on-Prem and cloud), business applications and database infrastructure to ensure full functionality according to company policies and standards;
- Perform ongoing maintenance of server hardware and operating system software, including patch management, hardware migrations, and system upgrades in a
- availability global environment; - Perform daily system monitoring, review logs, manage network security, and conduct backups to ensure hardware integrity, system availability, data security, and issue resolution;
- Monitor and enhance security policies to mitigate security risks and protect against threats and vulnerabilities;
- Conduct ongoing reviews of server infrastructure, taking proactive measures to ensure continued stability, optimize cloud resources usage and cost efficiency;
- Perform regular database backups, recovery and optimization; monitor database performance troubleshoot issues and implement improvements;
- Manage database security, including access controls and encryption and assist in database design, migration, and integration projects;
- Troubleshoot network, hardware, and software issues, providing timely and accurate solutions;
- Provide second/third-level support and incident resolution for a 365x24x7 operation;
- Participate in
- call and
- hours support rotation.
- Provide support for IT applications, ensuring optimal performance and availability;
- Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in
- Prem and cloud environments; - Collaborate with Dev
Ops teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines; - Troubleshoot
- related issues and coordinate with development teams for resolution; - Evaluate data integrity, document remediation requirements, and manage software issues, ensuring proper escalation and resolution;
- Actively participate in meetings for new application planning and/or updates with Business Analysts and
- party developers. - Prepare, document, and manage Requests for Changes (RFC) for all environment deployments, conduct risk assessments, develop and validate
- out plans, and obtain necessary approvals through CAB. Ensure compliance with ITIL Change Management processes for all deployments; - Assist the IT Operations Manager in implementing, testing, and maintaining
- level and business applications Disaster Recovery plans to ensure business continuity; - Develop, document, and communicate policies, procedures, and guidelines for IT systems, business applications, servers and database infrastructure, as outlined by management;

- related projects and activities, ensuring effective planning, task control, and coordination. Collaborate closely with Dev

Bachelor's in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other (KSAOs)
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or extensive proven general IT experience to ensure the same level of knowledge;
- 5+ years’ experience as a Sys
Ops Engineer, Systems Administrator or similar role; - Strong knowledge of system and network administration;
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e. g. , VMware, AWS);
- Strong understanding of software development process, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code (Ia
C); - Experience in database management and programming (e. g. Microsoft SQL);
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (e. g. , Python, Power
Shell); - Familiarity with monitoring and backup tools;
- Excellent
- solving and communication skills; - Ability to work independently and in a
- oriented environment; - Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies;
- Fluency in Business English (written and spoken).
