System Programmer – Mainframe (z/OS)
Emagine is looking for an experienced System Programmer (z/OS) to join a
- term project with one of our international clients in the insurance sector. This is a strategic opportunity to be part of a release management and infrastructure transformation , contributing to the modernization of core environments and the decommissioning of legacy tooling.
Your main responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain z/OS software and subsystems (DB2, CICS, IMS, RACF, compilers, communication subsystems, etc. ).
Perform system performance tuning , capacity management, and resource optimization (CPU, memory, I/O).
Ensure system security and compliance , supporting RACF and other access control mechanisms.
Support and monitor infrastructure stability and availability , ensuring the mainframe environment is ready for
- critical applications.
Collaborate with release management teams to align infrastructure and tooling with modernization initiatives.
Provide expertise in middleware and operating system components , ensuring smooth integration with applications.
Contribute to knowledge transfer and documentation for
- term system sustainability.
You bring:
Strong background as a System Programmer in mainframe environments (z/OS).
Hands-on experience with CICS, DB2, IMS, RACF , and related z/OS subsystems.
Solid understanding of system installation, configuration, and maintenance processes.
Expertise in performance tuning, workload optimization, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of network and communication layers in mainframe (transport, data link, physical).
Experience with release management and source control in infrastructure contexts is an advantage.
Proactive, structured, and
- oriented approach, with the ability to work independently.
Fluency in English (spoken and written).
