Admin/Dev
Ops Engineer at Bio
Data. pt, a Portuguese Infrastructure of Biological Data, tasked with providing resources and expertise in data management, bioinformatics, and computing. The role is primarily in‑person, with flexible remote work where necessary.

Responsibilities

Daily activities include:

• Contribute to the development and deployment of software packages for each project.
• Implement Dev
  Ops practices (CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure as code, monitoring).
• Support adoption of FAIR data principles, security‑by‑design, and GDPR‑compliant practices.
• Collaborate with European partners to align infrastructure with common standards and ensure interoperability.
• Contribute to technical documentation, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
• Support performance monitoring, incident response, and system improvements.
• Implement use‑case projects STROKES and VITACOV.
• Report to the ENTRUST project PI.
• Maintain and optimize Bio
  Data. pt’s bioinformatics resources and computational infrastructure.
• Ensure reliability, security, and high availability of local services.
• Support users and internal teams with computational needs.
• Update and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure, tools, and workflows.
• Report to the Technical Director.

Contract Details

Duration: 6 months, renewable based on performance.

Hours per week: 28 (part‑time).

Start date: 1 Jan 2026.

Compensation

Monthly payment: 1540 €.

Meal allowance per workday: 10. 20 € delivered by card.

Pay and subsidies will be paid by bank transfer.

Eligibility

• MSc Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience with Dev
  Ops tools and practices (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible/Terraform, Git
  Lab CI/CD, monitoring/logging stacks).
• Strong background in Linux system administration and cloud environments (Open
  Stack, AWS, Azure, or similar).
• Understanding of security‑by‑design principles and secure handling of sensitive data.
• Experience with federated identity and access management (OIDC, SAML) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of AAI frameworks used in research infrastructures (e. g. , ELIXIR AAI, edu
  GAIN) is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with EOSC, TREs, ELIXIR, and Life Sciences/Biomedical research infrastructures is a plus.
• Proficiency in English (minimum C1 written and spoken).
• Availability to travel within the country and abroad.
