Job Description

The Systems Administrator I maintains and manages server computing and storage platforms, including installation, configuration, preventive maintenance, operation, and problem resolution activities. Works closely with the SCCM team regarding client inventories, client health, software advertisement, OS deployment, and patching.

Responsibilities

• Performs
  - call duties on a rotational basis.
• Proactively monitors the health of all SCCM clients.
• Assists in governing the patching process for servers and client PCs.
• Maintains computer security and updates process documentation.
• Creates, schedules, and reports from SCCM; manages software advertisements.
• Authors targeted communications for changes or emergency notifications.
• Supports infrastructure applications supporting fax, voicemail, and collaboration.
• Requests quotes and justifies hardware and software purchases.
• Monitors and supports system equipment and software for high availability.
• Maintains servers, storage, tape backups, BIOS/firmware, and asset inventory.
• Contributes to process automation and assists with projects as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
• 1-3 years of related systems administrator experience.

Skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft OS, internet navigation, and research.
• Basic to intermediate skills in systems administration tools, scripting, and automation.

Certifications

• Windows Client/Server OS or Active Directory certifications are beneficial but not required.
