The tax team is seeking a highly skilled Tax Specialist (Senior) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing tax compliance strategies, and contributing to robust tax controls. You will collaborate across functions and influence key business initiatives while working independently with high technical acumen.
What You Will Be Doing
Tax audit and compliance: Manages internal/external tax audits as per local and international legal requirements to successful completion to minimize Fed
Ex's financial exposure, including management of subsequent litigation processes. For EMEA/assigned countries, responsible for ensuring that VAT and corporate income tax compliance requirements are fulfilled timely and in full compliance with local regulations. Includes either one or both direct and indirect taxes.
Tax Controls: Proactively reviews and supervises existing local GAAP reporting, recommends improvements or alternatives and implements them. Defines, develops and implements procedures and controls (system driven/ controllers etc) that secure tax processes. Recommends and develops new processes where required and implements them. For assigned countries, initiates, develops and supports projects related to international corporate tax matters. Makes recommendations and ensures consistent local implementation. Operates in full autonomy and with high technical expertise on: Direct/ indirect taxes; Internal/ external audits; Major Projects; Processes improvements; Multi country/ Multi entity;
Communication: Establishes and maintains contacts with relevant peers within the Fed
Ex network to maintain alignment; across departments to influence and obtain collaboration and across levels to share expert advice. Manages relationship with external consultants and bodies (tax authorities, industry association etc. ).
What Do You Bring With You
- Excellent language skills (Written/ verbal) including English and another language
- Diploma in Tax Law / Economics / Accounting / CPA
- Knowledge of tax accounting
- Excellent soft skills including communication, flexibility, innovative thinking, exposure on dealing with senior management, analytical skills, judgement and decision making, working independently
