Drive Systems is currently looking for a Team Leader at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate team activities, including task assignment and production objectives.
- Train new members on safety rules, equipment operation, station cleaning, 5S, assembly, and inspection processes.
- Train all team leaders and employees for each product up to certification level following the operator certification process.
- Respond to production orders aligning with smoothing/levelling fulfillment rates.
- Facilitate continuous improvement within the team, supporting safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation initiatives.
- Participate in problem solving (8D, 6M, 5 Whys) related to safety and quality issues.
- Conduct daily meetings and facilitate communication between shifts, focusing on performance indicators like OEE, Through-Puts, FTT, PPM, customer incidents, scrap, breakdowns, TRIR, and safety incidents.
- Support and implement production tools such as Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban.
- Ensure process control using tools like Preventive Maintenance, Poka-yoke, Startup Checklist, LPA.
- Lead and develop team members, providing initial support for personal issues.
- Participate in data collection for production/engineering activities.
- Ensure adherence to control plans through daily audits.
- Manufacture parts meeting quality and productivity standards.
- Participate in development and validation phases of new programs, including run@rate and PPAP processes.
- Develop continuous improvement plans for organizational efficiency.
- Facilitate effective communication within and between departments.
- Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, health, and environmental standards.
- Contribute to defining and maintaining organizational policies and environmental, health, and safety objectives.
- Promote a culture of professionalism and ethics among employees.
- Comply with organizational rules, regulations, and standards.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to meet organizational needs.
Education & Experience
- Secondary education, preferably with
- professional training or a degree in engineering or related field. - Experience in a similar role is valued.
- Knowledge of problem solving methods (5W, Ishikawa, PDCA, 8D), quality tools, automotive standards, and Lean Manufacturing tools is preferred.
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
- Availability for afternoon shift (14h-22h).
