Drive Systems is currently looking for a Team Leader at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.

Key Accountabilities

1. Coordinate team activities, including task assignment and production objectives.
2. Train new members on safety rules, equipment operation, station cleaning, 5S, assembly, and inspection processes.
3. Train all team leaders and employees for each product up to certification level following the operator certification process.
4. Respond to production orders aligning with smoothing/levelling fulfillment rates.
5. Facilitate continuous improvement within the team, supporting safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation initiatives.
6. Participate in problem solving (8D, 6M, 5 Whys) related to safety and quality issues.
7. Conduct daily meetings and facilitate communication between shifts, focusing on performance indicators like OEE, Through-Puts, FTT, PPM, customer incidents, scrap, breakdowns, TRIR, and safety incidents.
8. Support and implement production tools such as Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban.
9. Ensure process control using tools like Preventive Maintenance, Poka-yoke, Startup Checklist, LPA.
10. Lead and develop team members, providing initial support for personal issues.
11. Participate in data collection for production/engineering activities.
12. Ensure adherence to control plans through daily audits.
13. Manufacture parts meeting quality and productivity standards.
14. Participate in development and validation phases of new programs, including run@rate and PPAP processes.
15. Develop continuous improvement plans for organizational efficiency.
16. Facilitate effective communication within and between departments.
17. Ensure compliance with safety, cleanliness, health, and environmental standards.
18. Contribute to defining and maintaining organizational policies and environmental, health, and safety objectives.
19. Promote a culture of professionalism and ethics among employees.
20. Comply with organizational rules, regulations, and standards.
21. Perform additional tasks as needed to meet organizational needs.

Education & Experience

• Secondary education, preferably with
  - professional training or a degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in a similar role is valued.
• Knowledge of problem solving methods (5W, Ishikawa, PDCA, 8D), quality tools, automotive standards, and Lean Manufacturing tools is preferred.
• Proficiency in Portuguese and English.
• Availability for afternoon shift (14h-22h).
