Drive Systems is currently seeking a Team Leader to join our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. We are looking for a dynamic,
- driven individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate team activities, including task assignments and production objectives.
- Train new team members on safety, equipment operation, cleaning, 5S, assembly, and inspection processes.
- Ensure all team members are trained and certified according to the operator certification process.
- Respond to production orders, ensuring smooth fulfillment.
- Promote continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and motivation.
- Participate in
- solving activities related to safety and quality issues (8D, 6M, 5 Whys). - Lead daily meetings, facilitate shift communication, and monitor product performance indicators (OEE, Through-Puts, FTT, PPMs, customer incidents, scrap, breakdowns, TRIR, accidents).
- Support and implement production tools like Visual support, JIT, 5S, Kanban.
- Maintain process control using tools like Preventive Maintenance, Poka-yoke, Startup Checklist, LPA.
- Lead, motivate, and support team development.
- Assist operators with personal issues (absences, vacations, personal problems).
- Collect data for production and engineering needs.
- Ensure adherence to control plans through daily audits.
- Manufacture parts meeting quality and productivity standards.
- Participate in the development and validation of new programs, including run@rate and PPAP.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Foster effective communication within and between departments.
- Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
- Improve health, safety, and environmental conditions.
- Participate in defining and maintaining organizational policies, including Environmental and Health & Safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Promote a culture of professionalism and engagement.
- Adhere to organizational rules and the Code of Ethics.
- Perform additional tasks as needed for service needs.
Education & Experience
- Secondary education, preferably with technical or engineering training.
- Experience in a similar role is valued.
- Knowledge of
- solving tools (5W, Ishikawa, PDCA, 8D). - Familiarity with quality tools and automotive standards.
- Computer literacy from the user's perspective.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and inline automotive production (preferred).
- Conflict management skills.
- Results-oriented attitude.
- Fluency in Portuguese and proficiency in English.
- Availability for night shift (22h-6h).
