We are looking for a Tech Lead – Application Support to join an Agile Squad dedicated to risk, reporting, rating and reinsurance solutions within the actuarial and compliance domain. You will work closely with business stakeholders, actuarial teams, and developers to enhance business‑critical systems, ensure reliable delivery, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Important: Your CV must clearly show experience in application support, testing, SQL, Excel VBA, and working with business users in banking/insurance/actuarial environments.
About The Role
You will ensure effective system usage, support business and actuarial teams, contribute to product evolution, and lead testing efforts. This role sits within the Squad 4RS – Reporting, Risk, Rating & Reinsurance Solutions, part of the IT Actuarial & Compliance Tribe. The position includes product support responsibilities, Agile delivery involvement, and hands‑on testing and requirement analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand business needs and ensure they shape the product roadmap
- Collaborate with the Product Owner on requirement analysis, workshops, and delivery planning
- Write user stories and acceptance criteria
- Support developers to ensure alignment with business expectations
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, grooming, daily, review)
- Assist in persona creation, user journeys, story mapping
- Maintain functional documentation
- Communicate with business teams and tool vendors
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Define test strategies & scenarios
- Design, write, and execute test cases (expert level)
- Conduct
- regression testing - Track issues, qualify and prioritize defects, and ensure resolution
- Report on test execution progress
Production Support
- Monitor business processes
- Manage support requests & incidents (via JIRA)
- Track corrective maintenance and testing cycles
- Support occasional out‑of‑hours activities when required
Requirements
- 3–6 years experience, including 5+ years as Business Analyst in insurance/banking/actuarial context
- Degree (BSc/MSc) in Computer Science or related field
Technical Skills
- Expert knowledge of Excel with VBA
- Expert knowledge of SQL
- Strong experience with JIRA and Service
Now - Practical experience in software testing
- Knowledge of ITIL 4 practices
- Advanced experience with ALM‑Octane
- Practical knowledge of Gherkin
- Practical experience with BDD (Behavior‑Driven Development)
- Optional knowledge of. NET
- Optional additional SQL knowledge
- Optional experience with Microsoft Visio
