The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Technical Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of the integration layer in cloud (Azure) between ERP and the Commerce Solution for a large retailer. The role requires deep expertise in cloud‑native solutions.
You will be responsible for translating the solution design into detailed technical designs for secure and scalable integrations between ERPs and Commerce solutions using Azure key features. You’ll develop relationships with key client‑side stakeholders while also working closely with our internal delivery teams to ensure your architecture vision is realised.

- Drive technical debt remediation strategies

- Mentor and develop other technical architects
- Shape engineering practices and technical direction
- Architect scalable, secure, and high‑performance backend systems for enterprise applications
- Ensure your architecture vision is realised by our delivery teams, across all phases of programme delivery
- Make and justify key architectural decisions considering all relevant constraints
- Follow the principles and guidance set out by the Solution Architecture team
What You Should Have
- Deep expertise across application, integration, data, and infrastructure architecture
- Comprehensive knowledge of distributed systems and advanced architectural patterns
- Expert understanding of cloud platforms and serverless architectures
- Advanced knowledge of performance optimisation and scaling strategies
- Strong grasp of enterprise integration patterns and distributed transactions
- Expertise in technical risk management and mitigation strategies
- Deep understanding of engineering practices and technical excellence
- Proven experience of designing and delivering an e
Commerce solution such as Hybris, Shopify or similar - Core understanding of the capabilities of a wide range of technologies typically found within an e
Commerce landscape, such as ERP, OMS, PIM, CRM, Search, and applying this knowledge to your solutions - Be client and delivery focussed, able to adapt a solution to meet additional requirements and constraints and apply pragmatism when required
- Prior experience running design workshops
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Have excellent communication, presentation and documentation skills
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with event‑driven architecture and streaming platforms
- Knowledge of caching strategies
- Ability to work cross‑functionally
