Role Overview
As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of
- quality mobile applications using React Native. You will lead a team of React Native software engineers and work closely with Product, Engineering and Design teams to create innovative app solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
Role Accountabilities
- Leading a team of app engineers designing, developing, and maintaining
- centric apps, primarily leveraging React Native. - Ensuring continuous delivery of value to users through efficient development practices and
- coordinated releases. - Collaborating closely with Design and Product teams to implement visually compelling and intuitive interfaces.
- Aligning the
- 's work with the product vision and strategic goals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. - Handling line management duties, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations by setting clear goals and expectations.
- Driving improvements of engineering practices within the team to enhance efficiency, code quality, and user experience. Ensure code quality and maintainability by conducting code reviews, writing tests, and documenting work.
- Staying abreast of the latest app development trends and best practices and providing technical leadership to the team.
Knowledge
- 7+ years of experience in
- end/app development, with a significant focus on React / React Native and its ecosystem including native tooling for i
OS and Android. - Strong proficiency in Java
Script/Type
Script, HTML, CSS. - Experience with automated testing suites such as Appium and understanding of TDD/BDD concepts.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and practices, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience in people management, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Bachelor-'s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
Skills
- Proficiency in React Native: Expert knowledge building mobile applications using React Native is essential.
- Strong Java
Script/Type
Script Skills: Excellent knowledge of Java
Script or Type
Script, including ES6+ syntax, and understanding of functional programming paradigms and nuances. - Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and to communicate technical information clearly.
- Strong
- solving skills with the ability to analyse complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
Relationships
- App Engineers: Leading and collaborating with a team of React Native engineers to build
- friendly,
- performance apps. - UX/UI Designers: Partnering closely with UX/UI designers to ensure implemented interfaces match designs and provide an optimal user experience.
- Product Owners: Working closely with product owners to align the
- 's work with product vision and strategic goals. - Heads of Product: Coordinating with heads of product to ensure the development efforts align with their expectations and contribute to the overall product strategy.
- Engineering Management: Collaborating with engineering management to facilitate efficient organisational communication and collaboration and drive continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Contributing to the hybrid work culture, balancing remote and
- office work while fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
