Finastra is seeking Technical Writers with 3-4 years of experience in technical writing with excellent oral and written English communication skills. This role is responsible for designing and writing documentation and preparing other training collaterals for our products. The successful candidate must develop extensive knowledge of the company's products, processes and customer goals. Must be an abstract and creative thinker, capable of learning and summarizing complex concepts and issues. Must be highly organized and effective in both written and verbal communication.
Team and scope
The Technical Writer will work as an individual contributor while collaborating with other technical documentation writers as part of the Universal Banking Enterprise Documentation team. This role reports to the Manager – Documentation. The Universal Banking Enterprise suite of products covers core banking solutions for retail, corporate, and universal banking, with emphasis on Digital to the Core and a connected front, middle and
- office approach.
Responsibilities
- Working with development teams, product managers and business centers to research, develop, write, and maintain
- quality product documentation and collaterals appropriate for the target audience. - Developing and maintaining User Interface Guides, Online Help, Implementation and Configuration Manuals, Procedure Manuals, process documentation, Release notes and other collaterals.
- Preparing content in alternate media forms (e. g. , Power
Point presentations, videos and other collaterals for maximum usability). - Learning the product functionality through discussion with subject matter experts, personal use, and experimentation.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Portfolio of work with 3-4 years of technical documentation experience that demonstrates excellent writing skills, preferably in financial industry domains.
- Prior experience in a product development organization with Agile methodology is preferred.
- Take independent ownership of
- related projects including development and maintenance of repositories of reference materials. - Ability to build knowledge bases/repositories as an input to Gen AI tools for quick turnaround on queries in collaboration with Product Owners.
- Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and documentation templates.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills,
- motivated,
- oriented and able to work well in a team. - Ability to quickly understand technical and functional concepts and present them as clear, structured documents.
- Ability to manage multiple documentation tasks or modules simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines.
- Evaluate current content and improve using latest tools and techniques.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Applications, or English/Publishing/Content Management with relevant industry experience.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Power
Point, Adobe Acrobat) is a must. - Demonstrated experience with Madcap Flare is a must.
- Experience with Microsoft Manual of Style, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience using XML tools for documentation is preferred.
- Experience with Gen AI tools in the technical writing field is an added advantage.
- Certification through the Society for Technical Communicators and/or proven relevant industry experience.
