Zollern Portugal, located in Maia, is currently recruiting an experienced and motivated :
Level 3 NDT Technician/Engineer – Radiographic & Penetrant Testing certified EN1479 (COSAC/NANDTB…)
As a Level 3 NDT Expert, you will be responsible for overseeing and validating
- destructive testing activities at Zollern Portugal, specifically in Radiographic Testing (RT) and Penetrant Testing (PT). You will ensure compliance with industry standards and internal procedures, support Level 1 and 2 technicians, and contribute to continuous improvement in quality assurance.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Participate in quality audits and technical reviews.
- Supervise and validate NDT inspections instructions and reports in RT and PT methods.
- Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures and work instructions.
- Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable standards (EN4179, ISO 9712).
- Provide technical support and training to Level 1 and 2 personnel.
- Ensure compliance with EN4179, ISO 9712 certification requirements.
- Maintain documentation and traceability of inspection records.
- Apply quality methodologies and tools;
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System;
Required Qualifications
- Certified Level 3 in RT and PT under EN4179 (COSAC/NANDTB…).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in NDT, including supervisory roles.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with digital radiography and automated penetrant systems.
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and defectology.
- Aerospace, defense, or
- precision manufacturing sectors. - Experience with NADCAP audits and quality systems (e. g. AS9100).
- Knowledge of additional NDT methods (UT, MT, ET) is an asset.
- Strong analytical and
- solving skills. - Fluency in English; proficiency in German is highly valued.
