Job Description

The candidate will participate in the complete software development cycle within an Agile Scrum team taking full responsibility for delivering high quality software and creating value to the organization. The team is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation and testing of features within their scope. The role involves working in a multi‑national, multi‑cultural environment as part of a cross‑functional development team delivering software for Network Management Solutions for Nokia optical network products.

Position: Internship

Duration: 12 months

Start date: January 2026

Location: Hybrid in Carnaxide, Portugal

Education: Currently a candidate finishing a BSc or MSc degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Responsibilities

• Defining together with the team the implementation and test strategy;
• Reviewing Product Specifications and developing test plans;
• Automating and executing test cases and documenting results;
• Supporting test automation initiatives based in Java in a Dev
  Ops environment.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field;
• Fluent in English (spoken and written);
• Knowledge of optical communications and Fiber Optical Transmission.

• Good communication skills including ability to share knowledge.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
