UI/UX Design (After Effects)

About the Company

Alongside is a Portuguese company that partners with international organizations to build and scale exceptional tech teams. We work on cutting‑edge projects across different industries, always with a people‑first and flexible mindset and we’re looking for a UI/UX Designer (with experience in After Effects).

Key Responsibilities

• Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI designs for web and mobile products.
• Conduct user research, analyze insights, and turn findings into actionable design improvements.
• Ensure consistency across platforms by contributing to and maintaining design systems.
• Work with product and development teams to iterate based on feedback and usability testing.
• Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to deliver practical and elegant solutions.

Motion Design

• Produce high‑quality motion graphics, micro‑interactions, animations, and transitions to enhance usability and brand storytelling.
• Develop motion guidelines and patterns that support the overall product experience.
• Use animation tools (e. g. , After Effects, Figma Smart Animate, Lottie) to create assets optimized for digital delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure smooth implementation of animated components.

Branding & Visual Communication

• Lead and execute company rebranding initiatives, including visual identity, brand guidelines, and creative direction.
• Create and refine corporate presentations, pitch decks, marketing assets, and internal communication materials.
• Ensure all materials reflect a cohesive, modern, and visually compelling brand image.
• Work closely with leadership and marketing to maintain and evolve brand consistency across all touchpoints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, Human‑Computer Interaction, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of professional UI/UX or motion design experience (junior or senior variants available).
• Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX projects, motion design, and branding work.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar.
• Experience with motion tools like After Effects, Lottie, Rive, or similar.
• Understanding of user‑centered design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
• Ability to present design decisions clearly and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing for mobile apps, Saa
  S products, or interactive experiences.
• Basic understanding of front‑end development (HTML/CSS, React, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong storytelling ability with excellent visual hierarchy and typography foundations.
• Experience developing or evolving brand identities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Compensation & Work Environment

• Hourly rate of $10–$12;
• Contractor or Freelancer – Full Time;
• Remote work;
