Young Life Portugal is seeking a college coordinator/director to help develop and grow our mission to university students in the Lisbon area.

Lisbon is home to more than 30 universities and over 50, 000 students. Young Life Portugal has a growing ministry among university students, with a vision to reach both international and national students, especially those studying in English.

This position offers the opportunity to work alongside a veteran Young Life area director and a growing, active community.

Responsibilities

• Execute Young Life’s mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith through relationships.
• Be an active part of the Young Life Portugal community.
• Lead the university ministry, including growing a volunteer leader team.
• Spend significant time each week building relationships with university students.
• Plan and lead weekly events for students, including outreach (club) and discipleship (Campaigners).
• Assist the area director in recruiting, leading, and training volunteer leaders.
• Lead summer and school season camp trips, retreats, and mission trips.
• Work with the area director to raise funds and awareness for Young Life in the area.

Qualifications

• A deep love for Jesus and passion for outreach ministry.
• Ability and desire to relate to college students.
• Strong Christian faith, knowledge of God's Word, and ability to lead others to Christ.
• Proven
  - starter with initiative.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to build, train, recruit, and grow teams.
• Experience in raising personal and ministry support.
• High energy and capacity.
• Comfortable leading adults of all ages.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Young Life or college ministry is strongly preferred.
