Vat Senior Consultant Porto

Overview

We are looking for a VAT Senior Consultant to join an international consulting firm.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, preparing reports, advisory emails, and recommendations tailored to their VAT compliance needs.
• Develop and maintain
  - term,
  - based relationships with clients and networks, ensuring profitable and collaborative engagements.
• Assist Team Leaders/Managers with complex business issues, providing insights that add value beyond compliance.
• Contribute to the implementation, improvement, and development of technical projects related to Indirect Tax.
• Demonstrate the ability to assimilate new knowledge quickly and apply it effectively to client work.
• Ensure efficiency in clients’ VAT compliance processes, validating VAT declarations and proceeding with the respective submissions in each respective tax authorities’ platforms.
• Overseeing VAT registrations and deregistration at the request of clients.
• Liaise with tax authorities in jurisdictions where clients have strategic transactions, managing information requests and audits on their behalf.
• Ensure all deliverables meet both statutory deadlines and agreed client timelines.
• Contribute to the team’s productivity, motivation, and cooperation through clear communication and support.

Requirements

• Academic Degree in Tax, Law, Economics, Finance or similar financial/legal fields of studies.
• More than 3 years of professional experience focused in Indirect Tax; Experience with E-invoicing projects is highly valued.
• Background in consulting environment is really valuable.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
• Full English proficiency. Other languages will be valued in the recruitment process.
