Team and Role

The Pre-Sales Solution Engineering organization is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximum business value,
-
- purpose solution design and adoption roadmap for our customers. As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare, working closely with Sales, Product, Engineering and Customer Support to deliver scalable solutions that meet customer needs. Our Virtual Solution Engineers come from a wide range of backgrounds. A broad knowledge of Internet performance, networking and security technology is required, with a curiosity to maintain and develop new knowledge to keep up with product innovation. You should be passionate about technology, able to explain complex concepts clearly, and enjoy
- on problem solving in a customer context.

Role Responsibilities

• Connect with multiple stakeholders within Cloudflare and support the Sales and Solution Engineering teams throughout the sales process.
• Perform research and analysis on current and prospective customers’ business and product usage.
• Analyze performance and security characteristics of web and mobile applications.
• Collect internal competitive documentation about specific vendors and products.
• Build and deliver product demonstrations to prospective customers.
• Respond to requests from the Solutions Engineering team in a timely manner.
• Due to the global nature of this role, occasionally work outside regular business hours to service other geographical locations.

Ultimately, the goal is to accelerate sales cycles and increase win rates through standardization and automation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Graduates of technical, computer science or engineering or other relevant degrees.
• 0 - 5 years of professional experience.
• Understanding of how the Internet works, including
  - level knowledge of Internet protocols and the vendor landscape.
• Programming and application development knowledge; Python, Java
  Script, Bash experience is preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to present to an audience.
• Fluent written and spoken English; plus one of German, Spanish, Dutch or Arabic.

Bonus

• Previous experience in a
  - facing consultative or support role.
• Understanding of buying decisions and ability to explain ROI.
• Knowledge of security products such as Bot Management and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
• Exposure to emerging trends (e. g. , SASE, Zero Trust).
