The Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Universidade da Beira Interior is seeking candidates for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor, for teaching and
- time research (65%), starting on October 1, 2025, in the scientific area of Civil Engineering, specifically within the group of “Materials and Construction”. Preference will be given to applicants holding a Ph
D degree in Civil Engineering.

Applications should be submitted by September 21, 2025. The contract period will be one year.

Applications in paper must be addressed to the Rector of the Universidade da Beira Interior and sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the “Área de Concursos Docentes, Atos Académicos e Reconhecimentos”, Convento de Santo António, 6201-001 Covilhã, Portugal. Additionally, a digital copy of the application must be emailed to hpinto@ubi. pt and ajca@ubi. pt.

Applications should include the following documents:

1. A detailed CV outlining academic and supplementary training, teaching experience, research projects, publications, and other relevant elements;
2. Digital copies of qualification certificates;
3. A motivation letter indicating availability to perform duties. For the paper application it must only contain the following information: full name, residence address, email address, cell phone number(s), date, and signature.

The selection of candidates will be based on academic qualifications in the required area and the evaluation of documents 1) to 3).

Candidates with an existing employment relationship with the Universidade da Beira Interior will not be considered, except in cases expressly provided for by law.
