About the Music Department
The Music Department is based in a repurposed Palácio, although much of the

- one teaching occurs in various spaces across the site. All children study Music for at least one hour a week until the end of Year 9.
The Music Department comprises four
- time teaching staff, an Music Administrator and 18 Visiting Music Teachers.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Visiting Piano Teacher to join our busy and successful Music Department.
Key responsibilities
- To provide
- quality instrumental lessons for students, to enable them to perform to high standards and achieve their full potential in music lessons and performances as appropriate. - This is mainly by giving

- one lessons, but there may be opportunities to assist with accompanying and coaching in the department. - Visiting Music Teachers work closely with the Music Administrator and work under the direct guidance of the Director of Music.

At St. Julian's the curriculum is adapted to reflect the community's roots in Portugal as well as the international nature of its student body, and enriched by the School's own curriculum development strategies.
From Nursery (age 3+) to Year 11 (age 16+) St. Julian's broadly follows the National Curriculum for England. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) embraces the two years of Nursery and Reception, ages three to five. Thereafter students progress through the Key Stages of the curriculum.
The Secondary section strives to nurture in each student a sense of
- confidence and happiness; students are encouraged to speak up for themselves and relationships between teachers and students are very positive, engaging and stimulating. At the end of Key Stage 4, students take a series of public examinations (GCSE and IGCSEs).
