ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND TECH ORGANIZATION

Our Product & Technology organization drives the development of Trustly’s products. The cross functional teams collectively work with innovative ideas, development of products and platform and set the vision and strategy for the problem spaces they own. The Product & Tech organisation consists of a bit more than 200 people spread across Stockholm, Lisbon, Paris, London and Izmir.

All teams consist of a product manager, an engineering manager, a lead developer and engineers. Some teams also have designers and analytics competence in the team. They all work closely together to enable new products and features within existing products within Europe and to make sure the payment platform runs without interruptions and with high performance.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As VP Engineering at Trustly, you will lead and shape a critical domain, consisting of a set of teams within our technology organization. You will partner with a Product Manager (PM) counterpart, together define and own the domain's mission, organization and outcomes. Your leadership will influence the organization’s technical direction, team engagement and culture while ensuring alignment with Trustly’s mission to create seamless, frictionless payment experiences.

This role will be based in our Stockholm or Lisbon office.

What you'll do

Domain Leadership

• Manage and oversee a domain consisting of multiple engineering managers and teams
• Partner closely with a Product Manager (PM) counterpart to jointly deliver on the domain’s objectives, forming a cohesive leadership duo
• Work closely with your PM counterparts to deeply understand business problems and translate them into effective organizational, architectural and technical solutions
• Drive operational and technical excellence, take ownership of the domain’s delivery, technical roadmap and key architectural decisions
• Balance innovation and delivering with speed with scalability, reliability, and performance requirements
• Coach and shape the organization towards

• Advocate for and implement best practices in software engineering, ensuring alignment to Trustly’s standards, processes and

• As a member of Trustly's Senior Technology Leadership team help drive improvements to Trustly's engineering competence

Who you are

• Proven experience as manager of managers, managing multiple engineering teams
• Demonstrated success partnering with product management and design in building
• Empowered product development teams
• Strong technical expertise with an engineering background and history of driving architectural excellence
• Experience from building mission critical systems for high transaction environments
• Deep understanding of software engineering best practices
• Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills
• Ability to effectively balance technical leadership with people management and delivery
