The Warehouse Manager is responsible for establishing warehouse operations from zero with reference to Coloplast best practices in Hungary and Costa Rica (Coloplast Portugal is a green field project and construction of the new factory is
- going). This position is responsible for the overall hiring, management and coordination of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, shipping, picking for production and spare parts warehouse. The role ensures the effective utilization of space, equipment, and labor to meet operational goals and service levels. This position drives safety, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency in alignment with Coloplast standards and requirements.
The challenge:
1. Operations Management
Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate receiving,
- away, picking, packing, and shipping.
Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and equipment.
Monitor workload, labor productivity, and order fulfillment metrics.
Responsible for maintenance and control of warehouse forklift equipment.
Ensure compliance with the corporate quality system, including
- time creation and completion of
- conformities related to warehouse operations.
2. Inventory & Systems Control
Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy through cycle counting and root cause analysis.
Implement and oversee inventory control processes and reconciliation procedures.
Collaborate with material planners to ensure appropriate stock levels for raw materials.
Ensure Coloplast ERP data integrity and compliance with system processes.
Hire, lead, train, and develop warehouse staff, including supervisors, forklift operators, and warehouse operators.
Set clear goals, KPIs, and performance reviews for the warehouse team.
Foster a positive, safe, and
- performance culture on the warehouse floor.
4. Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and internal Coloplast policies.
Lead initiatives to improve warehouse safety and ensure all incidents are reported and investigated.
Conduct regular safety audits and maintain

5. Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives
Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and drive operational excellence using Lean, 5S, or Six Sigma principles.
Lead
- functional projects to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Collaborate with
- functional teams (Planning, Procurement, Quality, Transportation) to align warehouse operations with supply chain strategy.
6. Budget & Resource Management
Manage operating budgets related to labor, equipment, consumables, and packaging.
Plan and forecast resource requirements based volume growth for the site.
Evaluate and recommend equipment and technology upgrades.
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
10+ years of experience in supply chain management and warehouse operations.
Proficient with ERP systems – Oracle or SAP is a plus.
Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
Willingness to travel during startup up to 20% during organization and process setup, 10% annually afterwards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
English proficiency at C1 or C2.
Experience in medical devices company is a plus
