- based products and services related to various fields of the blue economy, ocean sustainability, marine science, marine ecosystem's health, climate change, ocean literacy, and science communication. Our multidisciplinary team applies numerical modelling, remote sensing, data science, artificial intelligence, and space and ocean technologies to develop such products and services and to partner in national and international projects.
WHO YOU ARE
+ATLANTIC is looking for a Web Development specialist with demonstrated experience in the field. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree (Grade 6) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Software Engineering, Information Management or similar. Candidates with a foreign degree or diploma must present evidence of recognition of the academic degree after the selection under Decree-Law No. 66/2018 terms. The spoken and written fluency of the Portuguese and English languages is a necessary condition for admission.
Besides this generic profile, candidates must have:
- Knowledge of web mapping frameworks like Leaflet and Open
Layers - Knowledge of version control tools like Git
- Knowledge of Python and Flask
Other requirements will be valued, such as:
- Knowledge of databases like Postgre
SQL - Knowledge of Geo
Server and OGC - Experience with Pandas, Plotly and Matplotlib frameworks
- Knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
- Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
- Experience with Linux environments
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
The candidate's main role will be to design, develop and maintain
- friendly data/information visualisation systems, dashboards, web platforms, etc. The candidate will be part of our Data Science and Web Development team. Examples of activities to be developed include:
- Design, research, and development of tools necessary for the processing and analysis of data and results of +ATLANTIC
- Maintenance of these tools, making them available to other +ATLANTIC teams and resources
- Debugging, tracing and testing/correcting processes in code
