Windows System Administrator
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of Windows-based systems and servers across the organization. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to system optimization, and the ability to collaborate effectively with IT and business teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc. ).
- Monitor system performance and availability, ensuring optimal uptime and reliability.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control through Active Directory and related tools.
- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and backup/recovery operations.
- Implement and maintain security best practices, including antivirus, firewall, and access control policies.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Support virtualization environments (e. g. , Hyper-V, VMware).
- Collaborate with other IT teams on infrastructure projects and service improvements.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and system inventory.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and related technologies.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Power
Shell scripting. - Familiarity with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware).
- Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, routing, firewalls).
- Experience with monitoring tools (e. g. , Zabbix, Nagios, or similar).
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft certifications (e. g. , MCSA, MCSE, AZ-104) are a strong plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud integration.
- Knowledge of automation and configuration management tools (e. g. , Ansible, SCCM).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management processes.
